One Health CertifiedTM (OHC) est un programme complet de soins aux animaux qui établit des pratiques de production animale certifiées dans cinq domaines principaux : la prévention des maladies, les soins vétérinaires, l’utilisation responsable des antibiotiques, le bien-être des animaux et les impacts environnementaux.
Les entreprises qui adaptent leurs procédures à la ferme pour répondre aux normes du programme, et qui passent un audit conduit par le ministère américain de l’agriculture, peuvent obtenir la certification et le droit d’apposer sur leurs produits en gros et au détail un logo qui indique que des pratiques responsables de soins aux animaux ont été suivies et contrôlées.
La participation à ce programme permet de vérifier de manière objective, par une tierce partie, que les producteurs respectent pleinement les lignes directrices du programme. Par ce processus, les entreprises participantes démontreront leur engagement de gestion, leur transparence et leur responsabilité à suivre les pratiques responsables de soins aux animaux décrites dans les normes du programme One Health CertifiedTM.
La capacité à fournir aux consommateurs un produit traçable issu d’une chaîne d’approvisionnement transparente sera un avantage énorme pour les producteurs en 2020, car les consommateurs s’intéressent de plus en plus à l’origine de leurs produits carnés, laitiers et ovoproduits préférés.
Extrait en anglais (original) : A new programme administered by the National Institute of Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Education (NIAMRRE), offers livestock producers a new way to demonstrate their on-farm health, welfare and sustainability standards.
One Health CertifiedTM (OHC) is a comprehensive animal care programme that establishes verified animal production practices in five core areas: disease prevention, veterinary care, responsible antibiotic use, animal welfare, and environmental impacts.
Companies that align their on-farm procedures to meet the programme standards, and pass an audit administered by the US Department of Agriculture, qualify for certification and the right to label their retail and wholesale products with a logo that conveys responsible animal care practices have been followed and verified.
Participating in this USDA Process Verified Program provides an objective, third-party verification that producers fully comply with the guidelines of the programme. Through this process, participating companies will demonstrate their management commitment, transparency, and accountability to follow the responsible animal care practices outlined in the One Health CertifiedTM programme standards.
The ability to provide consumers with a traceable product from a transparent supply chain will be of huge benefit to producers in 2020 as consumers become increasingly interested in the origin of their favourite meat, dairy and egg products.
